Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates who possess proficiency in back-end programming languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, Ruby, Go, or .NET. You should have experience in building and maintaining RESTful APIs and a solid understanding of authentication and authorization methods, particularly OAuth2. We also seek expertise in developing system services using C, C++, and C#. Additionally, familiarity with database design, query optimization, containerization, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) is important. An understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control with Git, and DevOps practices is required. Experience with API gateways, webhooks, and event-driven architectures is desirable, along with a background in writing or contributing to API documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI is a plus). Having previous experience with Delphi would also be advantageous.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance APIs. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining RESTful APIs, developing reusable and secure server-side logic, middleware, and services. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with front-end developers, DevOps engineers, and product teams to deliver complex business logic to the front-end web application. Your duties will include integrating with third-party APIs and data sources, working with databases to design schemas and optimize queries, and writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for back-end components. You will also monitor, troubleshoot, and improve application performance and scalability, ensure APIs are well-documented and following consistent standards, and participate in agile development processes including sprint planning and code reviews.

We offer a hybrid working environment based in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, with a competitive salary ranging from £40,000 to £45,000 per annum, alongside additional benefits.
