Requirements
Must:
- Knowledge of backup and recovery technologies
- Knowledge of NetBackup (All versions up to 10.2)
- Knowledge of NetApp, Dell EMC Storage
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Redhat Linux, Solaris, VMS technologies (not essential)
- Ability to learn and adapt to new frameworks/technologies
- Strong ownership and drive as a team worker
Responsibilities
- Perform daily monitoring and validation of backup operations for over 200 servers across various platforms
- Investigate and resolve backup failures and issues
- Production and review of daily reports and addressing backup failures
- Perform ITIL service delivery skills such as Incident and Problem Management, Change Management
- Liaise with colleagues and teams to resolve incidents
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis where appropriate, proposing and implementing long-term fixes
- Log hardware calls with vendors for any failed infrastructure
- Proactive management and maintenance of the backup infrastructure
- Support the development of backup strategies in alignment with business requirements
- Document and maintain backup and recovery procedures
- Perform hardware management of storage/backup platforms
- Monitor and manage storage operations
