Requirements
Must:
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of database design best practices.
- Worked in either a BA or second line software support role.
- Ability to produce documentation to a high standard.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills across all mediums, including face-to-face meetings, conference calls, WebEx sessions, status reports, and email correspondence.
- Ability to advise and influence client directions regarding scope, time, costs, and approach.
- Ability to make decisions at the appropriate time, considering the situations needs, priorities, constraints, and available information.
- Self-starter.
- Availability to travel to client sites, both domestic and international, as needed.
- Hard-working, enthusiastic, and enjoys challenges.
- Able to demonstrate examples of learning new software tools/products.
- Minimum 2 years of active experience using SQL Server, confident in all aspects of SQL, including stored procedures, triggers, views, functions, and indexes.
- Experience in table creation and maintenance requiring detailed data entry.
Responsibilities
- Support clients existing configurations and handle day-to-day queries.
- Use analytical skills to debug and troubleshoot configuration or systemic issues.
- Conduct triage and analysis of support requests from clients while adhering to contracted SLAs.
- Estimate and design solutions to insurance issues.
- Gather and interpret client business requirements.
- Document and plan fixes or changes required.
- Develop fixes or changes utilizing both SQL Server and DXC’s application tools.
- Conduct developer testing and peer reviews.
- Deploy fixes/changes into client systems, adhering to client-specific release processes and audit requirements.
- Communicate with clients at all stages of the development lifecycle to provide excellent customer service.
- Demonstrate fixes/changes with end users and assist in QA and UAT testing efforts.
- Work a shift pattern or on-call rota within the support team to cover core contracted support hours if required.
- Independently support a client (or group of clients) with BAU issues through the full development lifecycle.
- Design, develop, review, and execute system test scripts.
- Prepare technical system documentation as a reference for testing and support as needed.
- Proactively work with internal and external teams to achieve issue resolution.
- Escalate issues to line manager when required.
- Ensure that coding standards and best practices are adhered to and updated as necessary.
- Enter time reporting into the current system daily for invoicing.
- Provide mentoring and training to team members.
- Cover and assist the support manager when required and assist with release management and client meetings.
