Requirements
Must:
- Eligible for or currently hold SC or DV security clearance
- Sole UK national/British citizen with 10 years of residency in the UK
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Working knowledge of ITIL best practices
- Desire to improve processes and ability to identify root causes of problems
- Willingness to share knowledge and learn from colleagues
- Proactive approach to identifying risks and problems
- Proficiency in UNIX/Linux systems (Red Hat, Debian, Solaris, AIX, etc.)
- Experience with shell scripting (Bash, KornShell, etc.)
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools: Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef
- Understanding of process and job control (cron, at, systemd timers)
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NFS, SSH, FTP)
- Experience with filesystem management (LVM, ext4, XFS, ZFS)
- Skills in performance tuning and monitoring (top, vmstat, iostat, sar, netstat)
- Exposure to automation software such as Ansible/Puppet
- Scripting experience with Bash, Python, and/or Git
- Experience with AWS automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
- Familiarity with virtualization and containers (KVM, VMware, Docker, Podman)
Responsibilities
- Provide first and second level technical support on incidents and problems
- Monitor overall system performance and ensure smooth system functionality
- Create, maintain, and utilise documentation
- Assist in building compliance with processes and policies
- Implement standards, policies, and procedures for continual service improvement
