As a Senior Technical Architect, you need to have the following skills and experience:
- Architecture Across Environments: You should be able to design architecture across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid settings, including networking, security, presentation, middleware, database, and integration layers.
- Principled Design: Your ability to apply architecture principles, patterns, technical radars, and standards is essential for making robust and scalable design decisions.
- Lifecycle Engagement: Experience working with delivery teams in agile, waterfall, and hybrid environments is crucial, as you will support architecture design from concept through to go-live.
- Business-to-Technical Translation: You need to translate business requirements into technical solutions with clear traceability that our stakeholders can understand and trust.
- Modelling & Representation: Proficiency in using architecture modelling techniques and tools to devise, document, and effectively communicate designs is required.
- Vendor & Product Management: Experience working with third-party vendors, evaluating software products, developing roadmaps, and managing external software solutions to ensure alignment with strategic goals is important.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will work across major initiatives, supporting the design and delivery of complex IT solutions that meet our strategic goals, quality standards, and cost constraints. You will collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders, and vendors to evaluate technical options, provide expert advice, and ensure solutions align with our architecture governance. Your responsibilities include leading the technical design of systems and services, reviewing supplier architectures, and assuring the quality of technical work across multiple teams. You will also mentor others, contribute to cross-government alignment, and help drive technology choices to support our mission of delivering exceptional products and services.
