Requirements
Must:
- Understanding of modern and legacy integration patterns
- Knowledge of how APIs, events, messaging, file transfer, and cloud-based integration fit together in complex organizations
- Experience in leading enterprise-scale architecture for major, business-critical systems
- Ability to present complex topics to diverse audiences including senior leaders and technical teams
- Experience in running architecture governance to aid informed organizational decision-making
- Proficient in creating and explaining reference architectures, principles, and standards
- Knowledge of modern architectural approaches like microservices, APIs, cloud, and event-driven design
- Understanding of traditional on-premise monoliths and bridging between them
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain DWP Enterprise Architecture
- Guide how systems evolve, providing patterns, standards, and frameworks for teams
- Work with senior stakeholders and executive boards on architectural risks and opportunities
- Lead horizon scanning and translate trends into actionable recommendations
- Influence integration of platforms and services across the enterprise
- Collaborate with various teams to unblock challenges and shape roadmaps
- Represent DWP across government and contribute to cross-department initiatives
- Mentor other architects and support Product Delivery Unit teams
- Ensure coherent integration of architectural components across DWP
