Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a Java Software Engineer with experience in building cloud-based environments like AWS and Azure. You should have an excellent understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD). Proficiency in SQL and noSQL database applications such as Postgres, MySQL, and MongoDB is essential. Additionally, the ability to build a robust automated test suite to support a continuous deployment environment is important. You should also have knowledge and experience with APIs, RESTful services, and Microservice Architectures.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be developing innovative software products as part of our Working Age Services team. You will have the freedom and autonomy to write code and make design decisions that will shape the future engineering landscape of DWP. You will develop, build, and support products and applications as part of multi-functional agile delivery teams, collaborating with researchers, analysts, designers, architects, testers, and more. Together, we will use the latest tools and technologies to create applications and products that serve millions of users. You will also be a part of a thriving Engineering community of practice supported by over 200 engineering experts across the UK, all of whom are united by a passion for our purpose.
Description
We offer competitive pay of up to £58,347, plus a generous civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, which can amount to up to £13,028 per year. You will enjoy a generous leave package starting at 26 days, rising to 31 days over time, with the option to take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time.
