Requirements

Must:
- Experience in upgrading enterprise-scale macOS or other operating systems. - Understanding of complex and diverse customer needs, with a commitment to delivering a quality service that adheres to legal, regulatory, and security standards. - Strong dedication to continuous improvement, actively enhancing processes and standards across teams and the wider engineering community. - Experience in 3rd line support for incidents, with the ability to apply various techniques for problem analysis and resolution. - Proven ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment of technical solutions with business needs and promoting shared ownership of outcomes.

Responsibilities

In this role, I will have the opportunity to solve tricky problems, work with cutting-edge technology, and make a real impact. I will be part of a close-knit, collaborative team that supports thousands of users across the UK, including engineers developing digital solutions and citizens using devices in Jobcentres. My responsibilities will include managing macOS environments, exploring new technologies, and delivering smart, user-focused solutions. Additionally, I will be involved in everything from third-line support to designing and improving infrastructure products like MacOS, Jamf, and ChromeOS. I am looking for someone with solid technical experience in large enterprise environments, a curious mindset, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Description

I will be joining a brilliant digital hub in either Blackpool or Manchester, whichever location is most convenient for me. The job offers a hybrid working model, allowing me to split my time between working from home and collaborating face-to-face in the hub. The competitive pay is up to £52,442, and I will benefit from a fantastic civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%, equating to over £12,000 per year. I will enjoy a generous leave package that starts at 26 days and increases to 31 days over time, as well as the option to take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time, along with all public holidays. Further perks include an award-winning work environment, flexible working policies, paid time off for volunteering, and the chance to bring my authentic self to work through initiatives like 'I Can Be Me in DWP.' Additional benefits include discounts on shopping and outings, interest-free loans for commuting needs, and opportunities for professional development, coaching, mentoring, and career progression. The application process is streamlined to two stages: a simple application through Civil Service Jobs followed by a single-stage online interview. I encourage anyone interested to apply and explore the opportunity further.
