Requirements
Must:
We are looking for someone with experience in delivering and supporting infrastructure services and solutions within a hybrid server estate. This includes multiple operating systems such as Microsoft Windows and various Unix or Linux distributions, as well as containerized platforms. You should have:
- Strong communication skills to interact with different levels of staff, including support and engineering, business users, architecture, and suppliers.
- Familiarity with the ITIL Framework, particularly in providing 2nd/3rd line support for incidents, problems, and changes.
- Experience applying diagnostic techniques to analyze and resolve issues, as well as creating or modifying processes to enhance performance.
- The ability to prioritize ongoing tasks while engaging in planning and reporting to product and delivery managers.
- Proficient scripting skills to troubleshoot issues within the operating environments mentioned.
Responsibilities
In your role, you'll be tasked with identifying and rectifying issues, ensuring our monitoring tools operate efficiently, and assisting in the deployment of updates and patches. You'll work with ITIL across Incident, Problem, and Change management processes, supporting our enterprise-grade tooling setup. A solid grasp of IT infrastructure is essential, and you should be comfortable navigating Windows and UNIX systems, employing tools such as RDP and SSH. Familiarity with tools like BMC Helix, Flexera, NGNIX, Nlyte, Splunk, Dynatrace, or Cribl would be an asset, but we are open to training you if necessary. Your experience with public cloud infrastructure, especially deploying and supporting cloud setups using Infrastructure as Code, will be invaluable as we transition towards containerization-based solutions. We expect you to confidently work in this area and contribute to shaping our container-first service operations.
