Responsibilities

In this role, I will ensure that you quickly develop a solid understanding of DWP’s security tools and techniques. You will identify controls and recommend actions to address security vulnerabilities, while supporting our internal teams as changes are made. Collaboration with our Technical Lead to determine approach, tooling, and strategy will be essential. Once we agree on the right approach, you will assist senior stakeholders in developing the technical strategy, assessing the viability of improvements and timelines. Monitoring product performance against the technical roadmap will also be a significant part of your responsibilities, as you work closely with production, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure that our products are resilient, secure, and accessible. Building engagement with our Risk function and fostering relationships to become a trusted advisor will be crucial to your success in this role.

Description

You will join us in one of our digital hubs located in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, or Sheffield, depending on what is most convenient for you. We operate on a hybrid working model, allowing you to work partially from home and partially in the office. I am excited to offer a competitive pay of £42,614 along with an excellent civil service pension, featuring employer contributions worth 28.97%. We provide a generous leave package starting at 26 days, increasing to 31 days over time, alongside up to 3 additional days off per month on flexible time. You will also receive all public holidays off. In addition to a supportive and award-winning work culture, we offer flexible working hours, time off for volunteering, and a range of employee benefits including discounts on shopping and leisure activities, interest-free loans for commuting, and professional development opportunities such as coaching and mentoring. If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, we look forward to your application process, which is streamlined to two stages: an online application followed by a single-stage online interview.
