Requirements

Must:
- Proven experience developing and deploying AI and data science solutions to tackle business challenges at pace. - Expertise in inferring, predicting, or forecasting using appropriate machine learning techniques. - Experience designing and deploying LLM-powered analytics, such as summarisation, topic modelling, or translation. - Ability to quantitatively evaluate data science and AI solutions using novel designs and data sets. - Proficiency in using cloud computing and infrastructure to develop and deploy solutions (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP). - Commitment to promoting professional development and sharing best practices. - Strong presentation skills, effectively communicating products and findings to diverse stakeholders, from senior leaders to operational staff. - Consideration of ethics and data protection principles when developing AI and data science solutions (e.g. GDPR compliance). - Strong programming skills, particularly in Python (or a related language with a desire to learn Python). - Familiarity with essential data science tools and libraries (e.g. NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn) and machine learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, Tensorflow, Huggingface). - High level of competence in applied mathematics, statistics, and scientific methods. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work autonomously on data science projects and collaborate within a team.

We are DVSA, looking for two experienced Senior Data Scientists to join us in Bristol, Swansea, Leeds, Nottingham, Newcastle, Oldham, Birmingham or Yeading. In these permanent roles, you will play a critical part in shaping analytical models that drive our future work. We offer an employer pension contribution of 28.97% of your salary, 25 days of annual leave increasing by 1 day each year of service (up to a maximum of 30 days), plus 8 bank holidays and a privilege day for the Kings birthday.
