As a Senior Cyber Security Engineer, I am looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- Strong expertise in identity and access management (IAM), security operations, cyber threat hunting, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), and detection analytics.
- Practical experience with IAM technologies, including Active Directory (AD), Azure AD, access policies, authentication/authorization, strong authentication, and privileged access management.
- Familiarity with open standards such as SAML, OAuth, or OpenID.
- Experience in developing SIEM content, security monitoring, incident detection, incident response, and forensics.
- Proven track record in threat hunting and incident response within Windows and/or Linux environments, including cloud and hybrid environments.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will support the IAM technology stack by performing various identity, access, and data protection activities. These will include monitoring and enhancing security systems to ensure they are operational and effective. Additionally, I will design and enforce policies centered around least privilege access, identity governance, and conduct periodic access reviews.
I will implement and maintain network, intrusion detection, and prevention systems, as well as other security tools in a hybrid environment, both on-premises and in the cloud. Staying current with the latest cybersecurity threats is crucial, as I will guide and advise the organization on protecting systems. I will also serve as a technical resource for the security operations team during active response efforts, manage user roles, permissions, and authentication mechanisms (e.g., PAM, SSO, MFA, OAuth), and monitor cloud security events, logs, and alerts to detect and respond to potential threats.
Description
This position allows for remote working, with the expectation of one day per quarter in my client's Leeds office. You will work as part of a globally distributed team, responsible for deploying, maintaining, supporting, and improving tools and processes for Information Security on a global scale.
