We are looking for someone with strong technical expertise in the following areas:
- Infrastructure & Network: A solid understanding of servers, storage systems, Active Directory, and network technologies such as switching, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and Wi-Fi. Experience with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems, including virtualized environments, is essential.
- Hybrid Environment: Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, M365) and their integration with on-premises infrastructure.
- Disaster Recovery & Security: Knowledge of backup strategies, disaster recovery planning, and security best practices for infrastructure and networks.
- Support Experience: Hands-on experience providing 1st to 3rd line support for enterprise networks and Microsoft cloud services, including incident, problem, and change management.
- Networking Knowledge: A strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, QoS, VPN, wireless, DNS/DHCP), along with secure configurations. Practical experience with Fortinet FortiGate, managed Wi-Fi platforms, captive portals/802.1X, and RADIUS/NPS is also required.
- Azure/M365 Experience: Solid experience with Azure/M365 core services, including Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access & MFA, Intune, Defender, Teams, and Azure networking (VNets/NSGs/VPN).
- Documentation Skills: Ability to create clear and accurate documentation (high-level designs, low-level designs, runbooks, and change plans) and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Service Provider Management: Experience working with managed service providers and vendors, including escalation management and root cause analysis.
- ITIL Knowledge: Familiarity with ITIL v4 processes (incident, problem, change, configuration).
- Availability: Willing to plan and execute out-of-hours changes and participate in an on-call rota if introduced.

- Fault Finding: Skilled in troubleshooting on-premises and cloud infrastructure and network incidents.
- Vendor & Governance Coordination: Experience coordinating with third-party suppliers, validating deliverables, and ensuring compliance with agreed standards and SLAs.
Responsibilities
As our IT Operations Engineer (Infrastructure & Network Lead), your primary focus will be on our networks, servers, and IT infrastructure. You will:
- Serve as a hands-on technical lead for day-to-day networking and cloud platform operations across our site and Microsoft cloud tenancy.
- Provide 1st to 3rd line support for networks and core infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with managed service providers, third-party service providers, and vendors for escalations and complex changes.
- Oversee and manage our Azure/M365 estate and liaise with our managed AWS provider to ensure effective service and knowledge flow to the technical operations team.
