Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in COBOL development, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
- Strong hands-on experience with FIS Systematics core banking modules.
- Proficiency in JCL, VSAM, CICS, and DB2.
- Experience with batch and online processing.
- Solid understanding of SDLC, change management, and quality assurance processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Client facing experience.
- Very good communication skills.
- Good coding and software development experience.
- Commitment to highest quality standards and delivery excellence.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL programs within the FIS Systematics environment (e.g., IMPACS, ALS, ST, etc.).
- Analyze business and technical requirements to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues in a timely manner.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integration, upgrades, and migrations.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation for new and existing applications.
- Provide production support and participate in on-call rotation as needed.

We are a leading banking client seeking a Senior Software Engineer/COBOL Developer to join our dynamic team in London, Glasgow, or Newcastle. This is a 6-month office-based role where you will be instrumental in designing and supporting core banking applications with a focus on the FIS Systematics suite.
