Requirements
Must:
- Deep technical knowledge of SMP/E
- Expertise in z/OS internals
- Proficiency with third-party management tools like Broadcom Platinum and SYSVIEW
- Experience in IMS installation
- Production DB2/IMS DBA support experience
Responsibilities
- Ensure high availability and optimal performance of the DB2 subsystem
- Use SMP/E to install, patch (PTFs), and upgrade DB2 subsystems
- Monitor and tune DB2 system parameters (ZPARMS), buffer pools, and EDM pools
- Design and implement backup and recovery strategies for the DB2 catalog and directory
- Install and maintain third-party products (e.g., Platinum, SYSVIEW for DB2)
- Implement and manage DB2 security using RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret
Description
We are looking for a Mainframe DB2 System Administrator to join our team on a 6-month contract. This hybrid position offers flexibility with 2-3 days in the office, located in Edinburgh, Ireland, or London.
