Requirements

Must:
We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 3 years of experience in desktop/end-user support within investment banking, hedge funds, or similar high-pressure environments. You must have strong exposure to Windows Desktop OS environments (Windows 10/11), imaging, deployment, and patch management. Experience with endpoint management tools, such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM, or Autopilot, is essential. A solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and user profile/permissions management is required. You should be proficient in troubleshooting hardware (PCs, laptops, display setups, peripherals) and software issues with the ability to identify root causes. A good understanding of networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.) related to desktop connectivity, as well as familiarity with security best practices (patching, malware/AV, encryption, device hardening) is also beneficial. We value good communication skills, as you will need to liaise with non-technical users, sometimes under pressure. The ability to work quickly and efficiently in such environments, prioritizing incidents and tasks, alongside strong organizational skills to manage asset inventories, track issues, and follow up, is critical. Basic scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, etc.) to speed up repetitive tasks would be a plus.

Responsibilities

As a Desktop Support Engineer, you will provide day-to-day support for desktops, laptops, and peripherals (monitors, keyboards, printers, dual screens, telephony) both remotely and desk-side. You will troubleshoot hardware, software, and OS issues as they arise. Your responsibilities will also include preparing, deploying, and maintaining desktop images, ensuring that software installations, patches, and firmware upgrades are applied in a timely and secure manner. You will assist with the onboarding and offboarding of users and maintain software distribution tools and endpoint management tools (SCCM, Intune, Autopilot). In addition, you will maintain Active Directory, group policies, user profiles, and permissions relevant to the desktop environment. Managing and tracking inventory/asset management to ensure accurate stock, lifecycles, warranties, and procurement of replacements will also be part of your role. You will collaborate with other IT teams (network, security, applications) to ensure compatibility and performance while escalating issues as necessary. Ensuring desktop environments are compliant with security policies, patch levels, antivirus, endpoint protection, and encryption configurations will be crucial. You will document procedures and known issues/fixes, assist with office moves, desk/workstation configurations, and major rollouts, and participate in shift/on-call rotations as needed.

Description

This position offers an opportunity to work within a fast-paced finance environment, supporting the trading floor, investment bankers, portfolio managers, quant teams, and more. You will act as a vital bridge between end-users and wider IT functions, ensuring desktops, applications, and peripherals work optimally with very high uptime while meeting security, compliance, and performance expectations. If you are ready to take on new challenges in a dynamic setting, we welcome your application.
