Requirements
Must:
- A solid background in modern software engineering or platform infrastructure support
- Proven track record in creating and maintaining infrastructure as code platforms, cloud environments, or similar
- Ability to quickly learn technical skills
- Experience in project management decisions as part of agile service delivery teams
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Knowledge of automation and monitoring best practices
- Familiarity with cloud services on AWS and Azure and technical documentation creation
Responsibilities
- Own the development and operation of the cloud infrastructure
- Test and deploy product updates
- Identify and resolve issues
- Implement integrations
- Improve automation and monitoring
- Act as the technical product owner for the cloud infrastructure
- Provide team and project leadership to ensure standards are met
- Collaborate with developers and engineers to ensure software development adheres to established processes
- Maintain and update processes as required
- Manage and prioritize personal and team workload, escalating issues as necessary
- Ensure adherence to required policies, standards, controls, and best practices
- Create, maintain, and review technical documentation to share knowledge
- Proactively monitor cloud environments to prevent issues
- Drive continuous improvement across cloud services
- Assist in mentoring and developing the team
- Deputize for the Infrastructure Cloud Lead as required
Description
We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer (Cloud Platform) to lead the development of our cloud platform for national systems within Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP). Based in Birmingham, with options for flexible home working or a London office, we offer a competitive salary starting at £68,295 plus allowances and benefits including a company pension.
