Responsibilities
- Act as custodian of production database access, governance, and separation of duties
- Ensure databases remain online, scalable, robust, and secure
- Own monitoring, alerting, backups, indexing, and maintenance routines
- Proactively tune and optimise database performance
- Support change and delivery teams during releases and incident resolution
- Contribute to schema changes, indexing strategies, and new database builds
- Support database consolidation and migration initiatives
Description
We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator to take ownership of a large, business-critical database estate within a highly regulated environment. This is a hands-on role where you will act as the gatekeeper for production databases, ensuring data security, performance, availability, and compliance at all times. Youll have the opportunity to work on complex, high-transaction databases that underpin critical services while enjoying a predominantly remote working arrangement with occasional on-site attendance. We offer a salary of up to £65,000, a bonus of up to 17%, and stocks that vest every 2 years.
