Must:
We seek candidates with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field. You should have a minimum of 7 years of experience in CNS/ATM system engineering within civil aviation, with a proven track record in systems design, procurement, or deployment of ATC systems, including radar, ADS-B, voice communications, surveillance automation, and flight data processing. An excellent understanding of ICAO, EASA, and/or UK CAA regulations and guidance is essential. Additionally, you should have experience working with national aviation authorities or ANSPs in the UK/EU, along with strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills. You must also have the right to work in the UK/EU, depending on the role, and the ability to travel globally.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will provide expert engineering input into tender specifications, technical documentation, and supplier evaluation criteria for various CNS/ATM systems. You will ensure compliance with international and European aviation safety and interoperability standards, including ICAO Annex 10, Eurocontrol specifications, and EASA CS-ANS. Additionally, you will function as the technical liaison between the airport authority, regulatory bodies, system integrators, and equipment vendors. You will oversee and coordinate system integration, site preparation, testing, and commissioning activities, ensuring continuity of ATC operations during transition periods through risk-managed implementation planning. Your responsibilities will also include supporting safety case development, verification and validation, and regulatory approvals, advising on lifecycle costs, maintainability, cybersecurity, and scalability of proposed systems, and preparing technical reports while providing progress updates to senior stakeholders and programme boards.

We offer a permanent position with a competitive salary ranging from £40k to £70k, depending on experience. This role presents an opportunity to play a pivotal role in various significant infrastructure projects. We are looking for engineers who can implement a range of communication, navigation, and surveillance (CNS) infrastructure and air traffic management (ATM) systems in line with ICAO, EASA, and UK CAA standards. Desirable skills include being a Chartered Engineer or possessing equivalent professional accreditation, having previous experience working in airport development or ATC tower projects, familiarity with cybersecurity requirements in ATM environments, proficiency in procurement regulations, and familiarity with applying ATC concepts such as A-SMGCS, CDM, AMAN, DMAN, among others. Experience in the implementation of EFPS/ICWP will be advantageous.
