Requirements
Must:
- Extensive experience as a Firmware Test and Automation Engineer.
- Designed and maintained a complete test automation framework.
- Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
- Excellent written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Hands-on experience in testing microservices in a Docker environment.
- Hands-on knowledge of Python and Robot Framework.
- Familiarity with Jenkins.
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks such as Selenium.
- Competence in use of configuration management tools, preferably GitHub.
- Strong planning and organizing skills.
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Computer Science discipline or equivalent is desired.
- Understanding of embedded systems and environments is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with PyCharm or Visual Studio is a plus.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
- Experience with Linux Operating System is beneficial.
- Familiarity with HP ALM Quality Centre and Rally/JIRA is advantageous.
- Ability to use signal generators and oscilloscopes is preferred.
- Understanding of mechanical and electronic systems is desirable.
- Evidence of mentoring/coaching software team members is a plus.
- Ability to design and construct electronic hardware simulators is beneficial.
- Experience in testing Photoacoustic Spectroscopy (PAS) gas detection, Bushing Monitoring (BMT), and Hydran is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Define, implement, and execute manual and automated tests across our products to ensure functionality and robustness.
- Identify opportunities and tools to automate the test process.
- Develop automation test frameworks using Python, Robot Framework, or other object-oriented languages.
- Implement test automation to improve test efficiency, repeatability, coverage, and accuracy.
- Methodically review user stories, acceptance criteria, and product requirements.
- Create detailed, well-structured, and comprehensive test plans and cases.
- Ensure traceability of requirements to test cases.
- Identify, recommend, and implement procedures to improve the efficiency of QA test execution.
- Work closely with the Scrum development team to carry out smoke and regression test executions on time (both manual and automated).
- Assist in prioritization and analysis of reported defects, facilitating timely closure with development.
- Validate that firmware defects have been fixed.
- Triage and analyze test results.
- Participate in peer review of test designs/scripts.
- Maintain a record of test results for release documentation and write test results and release documentation.
- Maintain a repository of software and firmware release artifacts.
- Capture debug output and stack traces to assist developers in identifying and fixing firmware bugs.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail and work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Carry out additional duties as requested by the Embedded Software Leader.
