Requirements

Must:
We are looking for candidates with a solid background in IT infrastructure and/or network engineering. You should have some exposure to, or a growing focus on, cybersecurity and vulnerability management. An understanding of network devices, configurations, and security principles is essential. Familiarity with common tools and concepts, such as SIEM, DLP, endpoint protection, firewalls, and Cisco Secure Connect, is important. You need to be confident in identifying issues, suggesting improvements, and working collaboratively across teams. A genuine passion for cybersecurity is a must. While certifications like CISSP, SC-200, or AZ-500 would be great to have, they are not essential.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will manage and optimize security tools and platforms, including SIEM, XDR, and IDAM policies. Your tasks will involve monitoring vulnerabilities, investigating incidents, and implementing corrective actions. You will support patching compliance and vulnerability remediation while ensuring security best practices are applied across our networks, applications, and systems. Participating in change reviews and advising on improvements to existing setups is crucial, as well as supporting compliance with frameworks such as ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, and CAF.

Description

We offer a competitive salary between £55,000 - £60,000 PA along with a range of excellent benefits, including free or heavily discounted travel, an industry-leading pension scheme, and 25 days of holiday plus much more. Our organization is public-facing and well-known for dependable services, modernisation, and a people-first approach to both customers and employees. This is a fantastic opportunity for you, a confident and driven IT professional with a strong infrastructure background, to take the next step into security engineering. You will be joining a collaborative IT team, working closely with the Information Security Manager, and playing a key part in protecting and improving our digital infrastructure. The work is operational and hands-on, focusing on maintaining and enhancing existing tools and controls, monitoring vulnerabilities, and ensuring systems are patched and secure.
