Cyber Security Officer

In this role, you will support the Head of IT Governance in developing and delivering a Cyber Security Strategy and Information Security Management Plan. Your key responsibilities will include: - Supporting the implementation of the cyber security strategy and management plan. - Monitoring global threats and assessing potential organisational impacts. - Coordinating penetration testing and managing remediation actions. - Assisting in maintaining Cyber Essentials certification and internal audits. - Working with IT colleagues to plan and implement security improvements. - Leading the maintenance of Cyber Essentials accreditation and ensuring ongoing compliance. - Supporting the development and implementation of an Information Security Management System (ISMS) aligned with ISO 27001 standards. - Monitoring emerging threats, legislation, and industry changes, translating them into actionable requirements. - Identifying and planning critical patching and security updates with technical teams. - Ensuring that security is embedded in all change requests, upgrades, and projects. - Providing support for security incidents when required. - Preparing and delivering regular security and compliance reports, highlighting risks, and recommending mitigations in clear, non-technical language. - Running cyber awareness campaigns and ensuring staff training remains current and relevant. - Participating in organizational activities and training to maintain skills and knowledge. - Promoting equality, diversity, and safeguarding in all aspects of work. - Undertaking additional duties or projects as required by management.
