IT Infrastructure Engineer

- Build, configure, and maintain Windows Server and Linux systems as directed, following documented procedures - Operate virtual machines and VPS environments using approved solutions - Monitor system health, performance, and capacity, proactively identifying issues and escalating risks - Apply operating system, application, and security updates in line with agreed patching schedules - Monitor backup processes, perform test restores, and support disaster recovery activities - Assist with the operation and maintenance of our on-site data centre and equipment - Maintain firewalls and switches, applying agreed configurations as directed - Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues across environments - Support incident response activities and adhere to best security practices - Create, configure, and maintain user and group accounts, including GPOs - Manage access controls following the principle of least privilege - Support software licence and subscription management - Configure and maintain web services, including IIS and Apache - Manage SSL certificates, DNS records, and web security configurations - Provide first and second-line support for staff equipment - Prepare, install, and configure new equipment for staff - Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues, escalating when necessary - Act as a reliable point of contact for colleagues, explaining technical issues clearly - Undertake other duties as required
