Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in a similar BI or Data role.
- Ability to create insightful and impactful dashboards and reports using Power BI, with a good understanding of DAX.
- Experience using Power Query to extract, transform, and load data from a variety of sources into Power BI and Excel (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server, Excel, API).
- Experience building scalable data models using the star schema design.
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and Power Pivot.
- Understanding of relational databases, data warehousing, and proficiency in writing SQL queries to extract data.
- A good grasp of statistical methods to enhance data analysis and interpretation.
- Knowledge and experience with SSRS/Power BI Paginated Reports and SSIS is advantageous.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills to share insights and collaborate with the wider business on analytics projects.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Transform raw data into user-friendly and insightful dashboards and reports, including designing and implementing automated reporting solutions in Power BI.
- Support the operation of business applications that facilitate data distribution to external customers.
- Extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Power BI and develop and maintain data models to support data analysis and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide analytical support, such as designing appropriate metrics or identifying opportunities to automate and streamline reporting processes.
- Work with data engineering colleagues to ensure our analytics architecture aligns with reporting needs.
- Optimize SQL queries and Power BI models and reports for improved performance and efficiency.
- Follow processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data and reports, monitor and maintain data quality, and address technical issues.
- Adhere to data governance and security policies, ensuring the appropriate handling of sensitive or confidential data.
