Must:
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with:
- Experience in implementing data engineering best practices, particularly related to reproducibility and quality assurance of code.
- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and optimizing performance for large-scale data warehouses, along with experience in tools and languages such as Python, git, dbt, Snowflake, and Databricks.
- Knowledge of Kimball data modeling principles, including working with and implementing star schemas, fact and dimension tables, and slowly changing dimensions (SCDs).
- Experience translating business processes across multiple areas (e.g., operations, finance, HR) into measurable and actionable data models and pipelines.
- Ability to engage with stakeholders to understand their reporting and data requirements and to translate these into technical specifications.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Data Engineer, I will expect you to:
- Transform our business data into ready-to-use datasets that help analysts and leaders make strategic decisions and improve operations.
- Promote best practices in data engineering tools and techniques.
- Collaborate with various teams to gather important data and to develop reliable, repeatable data pipelines providing a comprehensive view of the business.
- Create documentation and collect metadata about datasets to assist downstream users.
- Assist in the adoption of our Cloud Data Platform and in defining its operational procedures.
- Support the team in fulfilling data requests from across the organization.
- Line manage one or two data engineers.
