We are looking for a Portfolio Analyst with experience in the following areas:
- Working in a PMO or project/portfolio management environment.
- Proactively planning and prioritising work while managing multiple activities to meet deadlines.
- Managing finances in a project/portfolio context.
- Planning, scheduling, and risk management in a project, programme, or portfolio environment.
- Utilizing Excel and PowerBI to create interactive performance dashboards.
- Compiling reports and providing performance analysis.
- Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills tailored to audience needs.
- Ability to work amidst ambiguity.
- A proven track record of delivery and continuous improvement.
- Flexibility to work across a range of priorities and deliver quality outcomes.
- Possession of either a Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) or Management of Portfolios (MOP) practitioner qualification or equivalent experience and expertise.
Responsibilities
As our Portfolio Analyst, you will have the opportunity to:
- Assist and support the Portfolio Manager, and deputise when necessary.
- Champion the adoption of best practice project, programme, and portfolio management standards and processes.
- Engage with stakeholders across Companies House regarding portfolio resource management requirements and lead timely reporting on these needs.
- Perform project finance variance analysis, comparing forecasts to actuals, and provide insights for continuous improvement.
- Analyze and challenge portfolio and program reporting data, escalating issues as necessary.
- Monitor and control key portfolio milestones, communicating any changes to the Head of Portfolio Delivery and the Portfolio Manager.
- Maintain and ensure accuracy in the Portfolio Delivery Plan, including reporting and analysis of project performance.
- Provide guidance, training, and best practices on project management processes and tools to the project delivery community and other stakeholders.
- Maintain, monitor, and continuously improve the Portfolio Delivery Plan, tracking key dependencies and assuring quality of project schedules.
- Work with Senior Responsible Owners (SROs) and Project Managers to ensure accuracy in project pipeline information.
- Maintain the Portfolio RAID log, identifying and escalating portfolio risks, threats, and opportunities.
- Engage with a wide range of internal stakeholders.
