Requirements
Must:
- Proven background managing or supervising a technical team or service desk.
- Strong technical understanding of Microsoft 365, networking equipment (firewalls, switches, VLANs), and server environments.
- Hands-on experience with hardware and software installation, configuration, and support.
- Familiarity with IT service management or ticketing systems such as HaloPSA.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise and delegate effectively.
- Full UK driving licence and the ability to travel to client sites when required.
Responsibilities
- I will lead, motivate, and develop a team of technical specialists, ensuring consistent performance and professional growth.
- I will oversee helpdesk operations, managing workloads and ensuring timely resolution of support tickets.
- I will maintain and optimise IT systems across Microsoft 365, servers, networking, and endpoint devices.
- I will conduct system monitoring and ensure preventative maintenance measures are in place.
- I will manage and maintain the company’s service management platform (such as HaloPSA).
- I will support both remote and on-site client activities as required.
- I will manage stock levels and coordinate procurement of hardware and software.
- I will contribute to quotations and ensure accurate recharge of client equipment and services.
- I will uphold information security and confidentiality standards at all times.
- I will provide out-of-hours cover on a rota basis where necessary.

We are a well-established IT solutions provider located on the outskirts of Ipswich, seeking a Technical Services Manager. This pivotal role is ideal for an experienced technical leader who thrives in a fast-paced, service-focused environment and enjoys a balance of team leadership and hands-on technical work. In this role, I will ensure high standards of service delivery across all client accounts, overseeing technical workflows, managing priorities, and driving a culture of quality and accountability within the department. Additionally, I will play a key part in ensuring systems run smoothly, resolving issues efficiently, and providing outstanding support to our clients. Desirable attributes include professional IT certifications (e.g. CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco), experience within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or similar environment, knowledge of structured cabling and physical network infrastructure, and confidence in producing quotations and identifying commercial opportunities.
