Requirements
Must:
- Achieved a 2.1 or above in a relevant field such as Data, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analysis, or other quantitative disciplines
- Commercial experience in a similar role at an investment firm or asset manager
- Good understanding of various asset classes such as Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, and Commodities
- Strong RDBMS experience, including expertise in Sybase, Postgres, and SQL
- Good knowledge of Linux OS
- Experience with modern tools such as Kafka, MongoDB, SAP IQ, Ansible, and Python
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Enjoy learning and seeking continuous improvement
Responsibilities
- Manage and improve a mission-critical, diverse data platform
- Provide operational support and lead continuous design and implementation initiatives
- Enhance scalability, reduce redundancy, and ensure fault tolerance of data systems
- Construct and manage integrations with monitoring and alerting systems
- Increase internal visibility and automate responses to incidents in various environments
- Build and enhance security controls and governance processes
- Act as a subject matter expert and mentor for junior DBAs and developers
- Design and build tools to automate operational processes
