Requirements
Must:
- Strong Python backend software engineering skills
- Experience with large data sets
- Proficiency in PySpark; experience with Apache Spark is a plus
- Belief in automation where possible
- Collaborative problem solver with excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with technology in the stack including FastAPI, Django, Airflow, Kafka, ETL, and CI/CD is beneficial, though we provide opportunities to learn on the job
Responsibilities
As a Python Software Engineer, you will join a small, dynamic team focused on a major data platform that provides analytics on mortgage-backed securities in US markets. Your role will involve:
- Collaboratively tackling technical challenges within an Agile development environment
- Creating data pipelines using Python and Spark, while leveraging Azure technologies
- Ingesting and analyzing terabytes of data from diverse sources
- Continuously learning and adapting to new technologies
- Taking on opportunities for technical leadership and project ownership
- Assessing and recommending new technologies to drive improvements
