Requirements
Must:
- I am looking for a skilled Backend Software Engineer with significant experience focused on Java software engineering, including leadership responsibilities.
- You must have strong expertise in Spring Boot, Kafka, and event-driven microservices with high throughput.
- I require strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching skills.
- A solid understanding of system-level concerns such as observability, availability, and resilience is essential.
- Experience working within security-conscious, regulated, or mission-critical domains is a must.
- Proficiency in working with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code principles, and containerized environments is needed.
- You must possess SC Clearance or have the ability to achieve it (i.e., you must be a British citizen and have been continuously based in the UK for the past five years), along with being DBS checked due to the nature of the project/client.
Responsibilities
- In this role, you will lead the design and development of secure, event-driven, distributed backend systems aimed at real-time operations, resilience, and extensibility.
- You will collaborate with engineers across the full stack to integrate backend services with Identity and Access control frameworks such as Keycloak.
- You will apply observability best practices and contribute to system architecture and codebase quality through code reviews and mentoring.
