Requirements
Must:
- Strong software development experience including Java backend (Spring Boot)
- Experience with relational databases and SQL query writing
- Some front end experience with JavaScript, Angular or React
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and real-time systems
- Comfortable working with legacy Ruby
- Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices and Agile development methodologies
- Collaborative and pragmatic with great communication skills, happy to mentor and develop others
Responsibilities
- Play a crucial role in re-architecting and enhancing the scheduling platform to a Java and Angular codebase
- Design and develop scalable backend Java services and REST APIs
- Write and optimise SQL database queries
- Engage in occasional front end work, creating user-friendly interfaces using Angular (v15+)
- Input into technical discussions and decision-making as a senior member of the team
- Influence best practices and technology choices within a small team
Description
We are seeking a Java Software Engineer / Developer to join our team in London, with the flexibility to work from home 1-2 days a week. Our product is a tech for good solution that enhances efficiencies for the NHS through a complex real-time shift rota application hosted on AWS.
