Requirements
Must:
- Strong Python backend software engineering skills
- Experience working with large datasets
- Experience using PySpark; familiarity with Apache Spark is a plus
- Belief in automating processes wherever possible
- Collaborative problem solver with excellent communication skills
- Experience with technologies like FastAPI, Django, Airflow, Kafka, ETL, CI/CD is beneficial, but you will have opportunities to learn on the job
Responsibilities
As a Data Software Engineer, you will:
- Join a small, focused team working on a vast data platform that delivers analytics on mortgage-backed securities in the US market.
- Tackle various technical challenges while collaborating and problem-solving in an Agile development environment.
- Create data pipelines using Python and Spark, working with Azure and ETL processes to ingest and analyze terabytes of data from multiple sources.
- Continuously learn and acquire new skills, while also having opportunities for technical leadership and project ownership.
- Assess and recommend new and emerging technologies, actively seeking improvements to enhance our systems and processes.
Description
We offer a hybrid work-from-home model, allowing you to work two days per week from our Nottingham office. Our salary for this role is up to £100k, accompanied by a bonus, health insurance, life assurance, and 25 days of holiday.
