Requirements
Must:
- Hands-on technical leader with a focus on backend Java engineering
- Strong knowledge of databases, specifically PostgreSQL
- Delivery focused mindset
- Experience mentoring and developing others
- Proficiency in AWS
- Familiarity with Python, Golang, Kafka, and Kubernetes
- Collaborative and pragmatic with excellent communication skills
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and scale the core platform with a focus on backend engineering using Java
- Rearchitect the PostgreSQL database
- Take project ownership and provide hands-on technical leadership to a small team
- Drive improvements in a collaborative team environment with high engineering standards and multiple releases per day
- Collaborate with the Platform, Support, and DevEx teams on the wider technical strategy
- Report to the Director of Engineering in an influential role
