Requirements
Must:
- Experience within a financial services environment working on complex real-time systems
- Commercial server-side development experience using Kotlin, preferably from a Java background
- Experience with Spring Boot and microservices
- Familiarity with messaging technologies such as Kafka, FIX, RSocket, Protobuf
- Strong knowledge of threading paradigms (Kotlin Coroutines would be a plus)
- Experience with automated test frameworks for testing code
- Good knowledge of SQL databases
- Appreciation of AI and the pros and cons of agentic AI development and tools such as Gemini, CLI, Claude
- Collaborative, pragmatic with great communication skills
Responsibilities
- Build high-performance, real-time servers powering critical financial applications
- Design fast, intuitive APIs that simplify integration
- Write secure, well-architected, and thoroughly tested systems
- Ensure reliability at scale
- Explore new technologies and take part in hack days
- Collaborate with experienced engineers in a supportive environment where ideas are encouraged
