Requirements
Must:
- You must have achieved a minimum 2.1 BSc in Computer Science or a similar technical discipline from a top-tier university, backed by As at A-level.
- You are a technologist who enjoys collaborating and problem-solving, particularly focused on complex, distributed systems.
- You should have expertise with modern C# .Net Core; Python skills would also be beneficial.
- You need a strong knowledge of modern software engineering best practices and experience across the full software development lifecycle.
- You should have a thorough understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as OOP, Data Structures, Design Patterns, and Algorithms.
- You are excited to join a start-up in a role that you can shape and influence.
Responsibilities
In your role as a Backend Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a small, talented team to deliver our core platform within a Microsoft environment, utilizing the latest versions of C# .Net to produce high-quality code. You will take ownership of technical projects, working across the full development lifecycle to understand business needs.

We are a FinTech scale-up with secure backing, partnered with an established Hedge Fund client, and have ambitious growth plans. We are offering a salary of up to £130k (negotiable) plus bonuses, 25 days of holiday, Bupa healthcare, generous pension contributions, continuous career development opportunities, and a social team atmosphere with various events and early finishes for Friday drinks. You will be working full-time in our brand-new Central Newcastle offices (Monday to Friday) with hours from 09:00 to 18:00, offering some flexibility.
