Requirements
Must:
- Strong Java software engineering background with a deep knowledge of JVM internals and performance tuning
- Good knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering and building scalable solutions
- Strong experience with message brokers such as Kafka or ActiveMQ
- Experience with containerization tools (Nomad preferred, but others accepted)
- Working knowledge of OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing concepts
- Experience in low latency production environments, improving system reliability and performance at scale
- Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices
- Collaborative and pragmatic with technical leadership abilities
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with development teams as a trusted technical advisor to influence system design
- Ensure reliability standards across the platform
- Drive improvements in system performance and operational excellence
- Hands-on coding in Java to build tools and automation
- Manage incident response and observability tasks
- Optimize performance while working with large scale Java JVM distribution systems and message brokers
- Work on a mix of on-premise and cloud (AWS) based services
