Requirements

Must:
- You should ideally be SC Cleared, or eligible to obtain SC clearance. - Proficient in C# and C++. - Familiar with Microsoft Visual Studio and Eclipse. - Ability to transition from high-level/system perspectives to detailed technical work. - Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills. - Experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. - Knowledge of distributed simulation standards and protocols (DIS, HLA, DDS) is non-essential but beneficial. - Experience in web services development (JavaScript, Node JS, or similar) is also non-essential. - Background in military communications, datalinks, and interfaces such as 1553/1760 and Ethernet TCP/IP is desirable. - Practical knowledge of system integration principles and processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

- You will support the development of the world's most advanced defense systems, from initial concept through to in-service support and training, using various simulation technologies including digital twins and emulators. - Collaborate with Project Leads and Simulation Architects to design and develop simulation components that represent a weapon system in a synthetic environment, utilizing C#, C++, and integration simulations while adhering to industry standards. - Work as part of a diverse agile development team comprised of engineers from various disciplines, all working together to create simulations and representations of real equipment. - Follow an approach to software development that includes configuration control, continuous integration, continuous delivery or deployment, as well as unit testing and test-driven development.

We are recruiting a C# Software Engineer for a leading Defense organization based in Stevenage. The role will require 3-4 days on-site each week, with the rest of the work being remote, although some programs necessitate full on-site presence. Initially, you will be required to work full-time on-site for the first three months. At WSSE, we play a crucial role in the development of weapon systems and system architectures, functioning across the full product life cycle. Our team integrates tangible products, models, and synthetic environments to provide visualizations, demonstrations, verification, and validation, in addition to training capabilities and support. This role is offered on an umbrella contract basis and falls within IR35 regulations.
