Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a candidate who meets the following essential requirements:
- A degree in IT or a closely related subject.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience on an IT Helpdesk with a strong customer service focus.
- Understanding of PC builds, rebuilds, and configuration.
- Familiarity with Microsoft products and PC hardware setup.
- Strong communication skills that are clear, helpful, and user-friendly.
- The ability to stay calm and effective under pressure.
- Logical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management.
- A willingness to take initiative and responsibility.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Desirable experience includes Microsoft certification (e.g., MTA, MCP, or equivalent).
Responsibilities
In this user-facing role, you will:
- Provide responsive support to users via phone, email, and in person.
- Diagnose and resolve desktop and laptop issues, including off-site repairs.
- Build, configure, and test workstations, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Support remote users with mobile connectivity and VPN access.
- Manage new starter setups and leaver procedures.
- Ensure backups of laptops, desktops, and personal folders are maintained.
- Maintain and deploy Group Standard Operating Environments using Windows Deployment Server.
- Assist with LAN, WAN, and VPN connectivity troubleshooting.
- Update and maintain the IT asset register.
- Document IT processes and user guides clearly and accurately.
- Administer and repair mobile communication devices.
- Support IT equipment purchasing during staff holidays.
- Uphold Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards in all work.
- Keep workspaces clean, organized, and secure.
