Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience in cyber and data security, with strategic and operational accountability.
- Proven experience in leading large-scale cyber security programs and influencing executive decision-making.
- Ability to translate threat intelligence into practical business controls.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across complex organizations.
- Demonstrable experience in cyber risk management.
- Ability to lead incident response and tackle complex problem-solving.
- A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel as required.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of our cyber security strategy, policies, and governance framework.
- Oversee security delivery across IT, OT, and SCADA, ensuring effective project and program outcomes.
- Act as the NIS Responsible Officer, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead cyber and data breach incident response, including emergency response activities.
- Provide cyber risk reporting and advice to the Executive and Board.
- Oversee third-party cyber services and security assurance.
- Promote security by design across business projects and technology changes.
- Work closely with the Data Protection Officer (DPO) on governance alignment.
Description
At NIE Networks, we own and operate the electricity network serving homes and businesses across Northern Ireland. As we modernize our systems and infrastructure, we are expanding our focus on cyber and data security to ensure our operations remain resilient and compliant with evolving regulations. This role reports to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and will lead our Cyber Security and Data Protection strategy and services. As a member of the CIO Senior Leadership Team, you will ensure our cyber security frameworks and controls align with our business needs, regulations, and emerging threats, while supporting informed, risk-based decision-making with senior leaders.
