Requirements
Must:
- Strong hands-on Python
- Experience with multiple Python test automation frameworks
- Proven ability to test command-line utilities and APIs through functional, scenario-based approaches
- Solid experience delivering regression testing across complex and evolving software environments
- Demonstrated experience developing detailed test plans and translating requirements into clear, structured testing activities
- Proven track record contributing to automation strategy or improving test processes
- Deep experience testing mobile devices and overseeing controlled test environments
- Confident working with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and modern automation tooling
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues
- Clear communicator with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
- Comfortable leading by example and supporting colleagues in a hands-on technical setting
Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, ensuring full coverage of requirements and consistent, repeatable validation throughout each testing phase
- Assess the suitability of multiple Python test automation frameworks and help define the tooling we adopt
- Coach junior testers on best practices across scripting, device handling, and methodology
- Monitor device performance, reliability, and readiness ahead of test cycles
- Enhance device management processes, documentation, and operational standards
- Design, execute, and refine both manual and automated test scenarios across mobile platforms
- Expand and maintain Python-driven automation frameworks for test execution and device management
- Produce clear, detailed test reports, defect analysis, and quality insights
- Run device preparation, validation, and configuration workflows prior to testing
- Identify gaps and improve test tooling, documentation, and operational efficiency
Description
We are offering a full-time, permanent role for a Senior Software Tester with a competitive salary of up to £70,000 per annum, based primarily remote with occasional travel to Farnborough. In this role, you will help shape the future of the testing function, enhancing processes and frameworks while ensuring quality in a dynamic engineering environment.
