We are seeking candidates who have:
- Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Data Engineer.
- Experience handling large datasets, complex data pipelines, and big data processing frameworks and technologies.
- Proficiency in AWS or Azure cloud environments.
- Experience with data modeling, data integration, ETL processes, and designing efficient data structures.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
- Experience with Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric is a bonus.

Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead a data team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, scalable, and aligned data solutions for delivering high-quality care.
- Design and execute cloud-based scalable data storage solutions.
- Oversee ETL pipeline development and optimization.
- Establish and manage data schemas and dictionaries.
- Develop data integration solutions and lead data cleansing, validation, and enrichment processes.
- Work closely with analysts and software engineers to turn business needs into solid data engineering solutions.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize data processing and query performance to ensure scalability.
- Set up monitoring frameworks to track the performance of data pipelines.
- Ensure that data meets scalability and availability targets through performance tuning.
- Manage data security, including access controls and encryption to protect sensitive data.
- Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations and document engineering processes and configurations for knowledge management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align data services with business requirements.

Description
We offer a competitive salary of up to £70,000 and flexible working arrangements, allowing you to work 2-3 days per week in the office. This position is located in Preston, and we welcome applicants from surrounding areas such as Blackpool, Manchester, Warrington, Liverpool, Bolton, and Blackburn.
