Requirements
Must:
- Experience of support and design working within highly secure environments
- Cisco Switching, Routing, Security and wireless technologies
- Knowledge of Network Protocols TCP/IP, BGP, ICMP, OSPF, IPSEC
- Cisco ASA Firewall Administration and design
- Cisco Firepower (NGFW) administration
- Palo Alto Firewall administration
- Knowledge of Virtual Environments and virtual network solutions (e.g., VMWare)
- Experience in Cisco ISE and PRIME BIG IP F5 Administration/Configuration - LTM, ASM
- Network Monitoring experience with PRTG
- Azure/AWS experience
- Experience of working within a variety of ITIL4 environments (desirable)
- Knowledge of IT Service Management toolsets (e.g., ServiceNow) (desirable)
- Key performance reporting and documentation (desirable)
- Stakeholder Management skills (desirable)
- Leadership skills (desirable)
- Experience of working in Government Sector (desirable)
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, secure and maintain enterprise network infrastructure
- Focus on high availability, performance and resilience of networks
- Provide advanced technical leadership across routing, switching, firewall administration and network security operations
- Serve as an escalation point for complex issues involving Cisco switching platforms, Cisco Firepower Threat Defence (FTD) and Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls
- Ensure the network reliably supports business operations
- Manage enterprise LAN/WAN design, optimisation and lifecycle
- Oversee firewall, IPS/IDS, and network security policy management
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting of network performance, connectivity, and security issues
- Lead network modernisation, migration, and automation initiatives
- Ensure compliance with security frameworks and organizational standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions
