Requirements
Must:
- Educational background up to a Bachelors degree in Systems, Aerospace, Electronics, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline.
- Work exposure to a senior software engineer, technical lead, or similar role leading or mentoring a team of software engineers.
- Experience creating safety-critical software in C/C++/Ada or similar languages.
- Familiarity with aerospace standards, including ARP-4761A, ARP-4754A, DO-178C, DO-254A, DO-248, DO-300, and similar standards.
- Proficiency with requirements definition, management, and verification.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day activities of the software team.
- Plan, design, develop, verify, and integrate the software for the high-altitude, long-endurance Zephyr aircraft.
- Act as the technical authority for software, ensuring compliance with safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.
- Specify and develop the high-level and low-level software requirements.
Description
We are a Manufacturing business operating in the Aerospace sector, specializing in designing, manufacturing, and delivering industry-leading commercial aircraft, with a separate Space and Defence division. This is a contract position based in the Farnborough area, offering an hourly rate of circa £52ph via an umbrella company, along with flexible working and training and development opportunities.
