Must:
We are looking for a Full Stack Software Development Engineer with the following essential experience:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and C#.
- Experience with frameworks and libraries like Svelte, Angular, Vue.js, React, and .NET 7/8.
- Familiarity with tools and technologies including Visual Studio, Jira, GitLab, Node.js, npm CI, Docker, Kubernetes, and Artifactory.
- Experience working on complex, distributed systems with containerization, particularly with Kubernetes and Docker.
- A thorough understanding of Computer Science fundamentals including Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Data Structures, Design Patterns, and Algorithms.
- Experience in an agile development environment and the ability to identify and solve complex problems.
- Capability to design innovative and user-friendly interfaces, as well as familiarity with modern software testing and deployment practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
- Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines.
- Comfort with all aspects of the software development lifecycle (planning, analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance).
- Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating across teams and with senior stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring and assisting junior team members.
Desirable experience includes knowledge of additional programming languages, such as C++, and experience with Linux sysadmin, DevOps, and deployment.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will expect you to contribute significantly to the Environment Simulator Group by:
- Continuing the development of web UI components.
- Maintaining and testing .NET microservices.
- Creating appropriate documentation for various processes.
- Collaborating with and assisting fellow team members to ensure smooth project execution.
Description
We are a world-class defense organization seeking a Full Stack Software Development Engineer to join our team in Stevenage. The role offers a pay rate of £67.00 per hour, with overtime paid at ‘time and a quarter’ for hours worked over a standard 37-hour week. The position is hybrid, requiring you to work onsite four days a week (Monday to Thursday), and the initial contract is for 6 months, with a high likelihood of extension. The role falls inside IR35 (Umbrella), and the interview process will consist of one or two video interviews. We look forward to your application!
