Requirements
Must:
- Minimum 5 years experience working within an IT support role.
- Minimum 2+ years experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
- Experience with Windows Server, Windows Operating Systems, Android, iOS, and Office 365.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, VPNs, LANs, DNS, and Firewalls.
- Experience with backup and recovery platforms such as Veeam and Acronis.
- Proficiency in Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange administration.
- Experience supporting cloud migrations (e.g. on-premises to cloud).
- Knowledge of anti-virus deployment and maintenance.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting firewalls and modems.
- Hands-on experience with Ubiquiti networking hardware.
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points and access to own vehicle.
Responsibilities
- Provide extensive on-site support, acting as the primary technical resource during customer visits.
- Conduct regular scheduled and reactive site visits to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues that cannot be handled remotely.
- Perform full on-site system reviews, including workstation, server, and network health checks.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, networking hardware, and peripherals during site deployments.
- Carry out on-site network troubleshooting, including cabling checks, switch configuration, Wi-Fi optimisation, and fault isolation.
- Support customer office moves, on-site equipment rollouts, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Provide remote support for hardware, software, and network issues when not on-site.
- Collaborate with vendors to identify issues and implement fixes.
- Conduct regular system maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, updates, and physical server checks.
- Manage and maintain infrastructure including Windows Server, Windows OS, Azure AD, Active Directory, and Office 365 environments.
- Document and track all support activities using our clients ticketing system.
- Assist with bespoke software installations and updates.
- Support the resolution of network-related issues including VPN, LAN, DNS, and firewall troubleshooting.
- Work closely with team members to deliver IT and telephony technical solutions.
- Participate in out-of-hours maintenance windows (e.g., server updates, project rollouts) where required.
Description
We are a well-established MSP providing Complete IT Support and Telecoms Solutions within Worcester and the surrounding areas. Due to continued growth and expansion, we are looking to recruit an IT Field Service Engineer who will be a key part of our customer-facing technical operations. The position involves frequent on-site visits to client premises, providing hands-on technical support, and building strong customer relationships. We offer a competitive salary between £30k - £34k along with excellent benefits.
