Requirements
Must:
- Demonstrable experience operating in senior leadership or coordination roles within complex, multi-stakeholder programmes
- Previous experience working in environments using MATLAB and Simulink to support system modelling, analysis, or design activities (Desirable but not essential)
- Strong ability to build credibility and trusted relationships across internal teams and external partners
- Proven capability to influence, communicate, and align stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
- Strong understanding of how technical, programme, and business requirements interact at enterprise level
Responsibilities
- Provide senior leadership and coordination across FCAS systems design activities
- Establish, build, and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners across the defence and aerospace sector
- Ensure alignment of multiple stakeholder needs within a broader business and programme context to enable effective decision-making
- Influence, shape, and drive a clear design coordination narrative across the programme
- Develop individuals within the team, ensuring roles are clearly defined and aligned to programme needs, with appropriate development opportunities
- Act as a central coordination point to support delivery consistency, clarity, and quality
- Operate with exceptional attention to detail while managing complex, evolving priorities
Description
We are a leading defence organisation located in Bristol, Stevenage, or Bolton, offering a hybrid work model. We are seeking an experienced Head of FCAS Systems Design Co-ordination to join our high-profile Future Combat Air System (FCAS) programme. This senior leadership role involves contributing to the coordination and alignment of system design activities across internal teams and external partners.
