- Windows 11 desktop deployment, hardening, management, and break/fix support
- Windows Active Directory administration
- Fortinet TOR network switches configuration, deployment, administration, and support
- FortiGate NGFWs configuration, deployment, administration, and support
- System security monitoring, observability, and dashboarding (desirable)
- FortiManager centralised firewall and security management (desirable)
- Experience with Dell UAD hardware (desirable)
- Service and system reporting to stakeholders (desirable)
- Viasat encrypted drive deployment and support (desirable)
- System hardening and security assurance experience (desirable)
- Vendor and supplier management (desirable)
- Jira and Kanban ways of working (desirable)
- Background in the military or defence sector (desirable)
Responsibilities
- Support rollout and deployment of secure edge sites, including planning and delivery activities
- Provide day-2 operational support for live edge and core systems
- Perform system changes, security patching, and major/minor updates
- Manage and administer object storage platforms
- Manage and administer networking and firewall configurations
- Manage and administer Active Directory and user access devices
- Support secure user access, system hardening, and configuration management
- Produce and maintain system, site, and design documentation
- Work independently in disconnected / air-gapped environments
- Engage with customers, end users, vendors, and suppliers as required
Description
We are Carbon60, and we are looking for an Edge Site Deployment / Day 2 Operations Support Engineer to bolster our highly secure, classified maritime data collection and processing capability. This hands-on engineering role involves supporting the rollout of new edge sites as well as ongoing operational support. Our team operates within a secure environment across multiple sites in the UK.
