Requirements
Must:
- Deep technical knowledge of Unreal Engine, including Blueprint development and a working knowledge of C++
- Experience building interactive applications (VR experience preferred but not essential)
- Understanding of game design or experience design principles
- Comfortable talking to clients and non-technical stakeholders
- Self-directed and happy to figure things out without hand-holding
- Comfortable using AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) and understanding where they help, where they break, and how to guide them to useful output
- Nice to Have: VR development experience, especially for Quest or Pico headsets
- Nice to Have: 3D asset workflow experience (modelling, texturing, animation)
- Nice to Have: Familiarity with AWS services
- Nice to Have: Experience with Perforce or similar version control
- Nice to Have: Experience with AI-assisted development workflows for Unreal Engine (e.g. MCP integrations, automated code generation)
- Nice to Have: A genuine understanding of behavioural psychology or psychometrics
Responsibilities
- Build VR prototypes and production-ready experiences in Unreal Engine
- Implement interactions, systems, and environment layouts
- Iterate quickly on mechanics and user experience based on feedback
- Troubleshoot performance issues, interaction bugs, and VR-specific challenges
- Own the quality of your work end-to-end, from prototype to packaged build
- Contribute to early concepting and creative exploration
- Help shape experience design, flow, and interaction ideas
- Turn rough ideas into actionable prototypes
- Balance creative ambition with technical feasibility
- Be comfortable changing direction as requirements evolve
- Lead client meetings, demos, and feedback sessions
- Explain technical possibilities and constraints in plain language
- Represent the team confidently when needed
