Requirements
Must:
- Strong knowledge of the whole safety critical software development life cycle.
- Extended expertise in either requirements, development or testing.
- Experience in at least one of the following markets: aerospace, transport, defence, rail, automotive.
- Experience of applying relevant standards such as 61508, 50128, 26262, 00-55, ED-109, DO178, etc.
- Track record of technical leadership in high value software development projects.
- Experience in leading people, building careers and capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly build rapport with others.
- Self-motivated and able to use initiative.
- Organised with good time management and prioritisation skills.
- Methodical approach to work, with strong attention to detail, logic, and reasoning skills.
- Degree qualified in software engineering or related/relevant subject (desirable).
- Chartered Engineer and member of the IEEE or BCS (desirable).
- Knowledge and experience in static analysis techniques (desirable).
Responsibilities
- Take on lead roles in the development of safety critical software.
- Shape technical strategy on bids and projects adhering to standard lifecycle models and quality management systems.
- Take lead consultancy roles to guide customers in their software challenges.
- Lead the generation of software requirements, architecture, and design.
- Lead the development and testing of software and systems.
- Collaborate with the safety team to provide evidence against relevant standards.
- Line manage and mentor junior staff, supporting their competency growth.
- Advocate for our correctness-by-construction approach both internally and externally.
- Work with market sales teams to support bidding for new projects.
Description
At Capgemini, we are looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our High Integrity Software team based in Bath. Our team specializes in developing software for safety-related and critical applications across various sectors, including Aerospace, Defence, Rail, Automotive, and Energy. We take pride in our award-winning projects that significantly enhance operational efficiency and safety. You will be part of a diverse and experienced group of engineers committed to meeting high customer expectations. We offer a permanent position with a salary range of £35,000 to £45,000, working 3 days on-site each week.
