Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a candidate with strong commercial experience in Java and hands-on expertise with the Spring framework. You should possess knowledge of software design patterns and development best practices, and experience with Docker or Kubernetes is desirable. An understanding of CI/CD pipelines is also essential. Additionally, you must be eligible for Security Clearance, which requires you to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years.
Responsibilities
In this role, I expect you to design, build, and maintain high-quality Java applications. You will contribute to the development of microservices and modern architectures, and work with the Spring framework to deliver scalable solutions. It is crucial that you apply best practices in software engineering, including TDD, CI/CD, and automation. Collaboration within an agile team to drive continuous improvement is key, as well as ensuring that solutions meet security and performance requirements.
Description
We are offering a salary between £60,000 - £80,000, along with a competitive package. The position is based in Cardiff, with an onsite requirement of approximately two days every other week. As part of a highly skilled engineering team, you will be delivering enterprise-scale solutions in an agile, collaborative environment. You will apply your strong technical expertise in Java and Spring while ideally bringing experience with containerization and cloud environments to the table. We prefer candidates who are local to Cardiff or within a commutable distance and who are passionate about delivering high-quality, secure code.
